The Last Of Ollie Burns?
After being cheated out of his third shot at the belt, has Hayling seen the last of the hometown hero?

When Ollie Burns first challenged Dan James for a title match, many in the audience were delighted to hear that the young man from West Town had made his return to the ring, after nearly 6-months of being inactive. One man that wasn’t pleased, however, was the ‘Chav King’ himself, James…
In their first encounter in well over a year, Ollie suffered much blood loss, bleeding for near to twenty minutes before finally coming back and scoring a surprise three count, only for the referee to reverse the decision and allow the champion to get a win with a handful of tights and an unfair advantage.
An understandably upset challenger then set a challenge for a rematch, this time it would be an iron man match, which was intended to cut out the chance of a quick cheat.
However Burns was upset once more to find that Dan cheated his way out of this match too, when Burns scored the deciding fall in the last, precious seconds, and the dastardly champ bullied the referee into calling a rope break, making the match a draw and allowing James to walk out with the belt in tow.
In a final, intentionally feud-ending match, the two met in a Last Man Standing contest. In such a contest Burns was sure that he would not be cheated, and they would have a fair fight. He was understandably upset then when he found himself handcuffed to the bottom rope, stopping from himself getting up, as he intended to do, and a visually-impaired referee counted the dreadful 10 count.
With a new year ahead of us, it seems that all those on the roster are looking for new beginnings and opportunities. And with a new number one contender in Ant Lacayo, many believe Burns to now be an obsolete challenger. However, the hometown hero refuses to walk away from his arch nemesis. Three times he challenged for the belt and three times he was cheated out of it. Ever since the young man has been gunning for another shot at the title, with an understanding management listening to his pleas.
Unfortunately for Burns, it looks as though he will have to sit out this upcoming show, as the ‘Chav King’ looks to take on another local Islander, and a good friend of Burns’ in Lacayo.
But the vigilant competitor has not walked away, and has been scheduled for a last meeting with the management on Feb 20th, just two days before the next show. Already an owner of a ticket for that show, Burns will be in attendance, but will the passionate youngster be there just to watch? Or will he try to send a message to the champion? And what will the outcome of his meeting with the management be?
All may be revealed on the 22nd February, when Hayling Island Wrestling makes it’s New Year return!
The War Rages On!
After a series of increasingly intense matches, the war between Tyrone Johnson, Gallagher, Bellinger and Marvin Ellis hasn’t let up!
When Tyrone Johnson and Marvin Ellis first faced off in the ring, the fans in attendance expected to see a sporting one-on-one contest, this was not the case however when the mighty Bellinger strolled to the ring, costing Tyrone the victory!
Johnson hoped to get vengeance when he squared off with the brooding monster, but was once again screwed out of a victory when Bellinger’s brother-in-arms, Ellis, returned the favour and cost Tyrone the match, for the second time!
Later that night, the two big men tried to continue their cheating ways, when Ellis took on the technical-mastermind, Gallagher. As Bellinger honed in for his assault, Tyrone dashed to the ring to make a save, hoping to gain a measure of revenge on the infuriating bullies in the process, only to unwittingly cost Gallagher the match when he was disqualified by the referee.
Gallagher and Johnson’s history go way back, the pair of whom have been close friends for many years, and when Tyrone requested they join forces, Gallagher was more than happy to side with him!
This resulted in a colossal match at the Christmas Show, when Gallagher and Tyrone teamed up to take on the team of Bellinger and Ellis. What followed was an all-out fight for survival, ending only when Ellis stooped low enough to use a wrench, hidden in his warm-up towel, used to bash Johnson round the head and pick up the win.
The aftermath of the contest left Tyrone in a bad spot, with a case of concussion. Because of this injury Gallagher has been forced to attend the show on his own, without his wingman.
However, with no sign of either Ellis or Bellinger being assigned to a match, it may be questionable that they will even be there. With this taken into account, the cautious Gallagher will have to be on the alert, as his two nemeses have already shown themselves to be underhand at the best of times.
On the Feb 22nd Gallagher is scheduled to take on Jake McCluskey, in a match that should show the pair at their best. After a string of matches where the pair of them have suffered unfair tactics of their opponents, they will both be pleased to have a straight, sporting match.
But will the thought of recent events distract Gallagher? Will his injured friend lying at home in bed be enough to cost him the match? Or will he try to speak out to the threatening Ellis and Bellinger?
Whatever happens, it is very much apparent that this war is not yet over. The history of these four men has been recorded well, but the future is yet to be written…
